COWBOY DIRECTORY NEWS
An Occasional Newsletter - ISSUE # 9 - April 7, 2003
Howdy Everyone,
Hope you and your's are doin' mighty well.
Cowboy poet and musician Larry McWhorter lost his battle with cancer. He passed from this life to the next on March 19, 2003. You will want to read, again, his wonderful poem/song titled, "I'll Meet You At the Throne". You'll find it under his bio in the DIRECTORY. He wrote it just two years before his death, and it speaks volumes about his faith. We'll miss ya, pard.
Wesley Tuttle, one of Western music's great gentlemen, has had some blod clots in his legs in recent months. But seems to be doing better . . . . . The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum here in Oklahoma City recently inducted some fine folks into their Western Hall of Fame: Red Steagall and Harry Carey, Jr. and the late John Carradine . . . . . Former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating wrote a children's book, WILL ROGERS: AN AMERICAN LEGEND. It was illustrated by Mike Wimmer. The book won a Spur Award for storytelling from the Western Writers of America. It will be presented during their annual convention in June . . . . . You still have time to sign up for that great "Cowboy Cruise" to Alaska in August, and enjoy the music of Michael Martin Murphy and Belinda Gail and several others. CLICK HERE for details.
